This is a blog about my progress with the LCHF - Low Carb High Fat - diet. Here you can follow my ups and downs and some of the research I tend to do about my and other people's diets just for the sheer fun of it. So basically what I'm doing is trying to lose weight by stuffing my face with butter, cheese and cream. I can do this!

What is LCHF?
LCHF, or Low Carb High Fat, is a relatively new diet in Sweden promoted by Dr. Annika Dahlqvist.
It has been heavily debated but has been approved by The National Board of Health and Welfare as a diet as well as treatment for type 2 diabetes.
As you may have noticed, LCHF is similar to the Atkin's Diet which was also heavily debated when it was made popular in the 70.s. The main difference is that with LCHF you eat less carbs and more fat than people dieting with Atkin's which makes it a more extreme version of it.
Getting all the numbers right when cooking can be difficult but a good way to start is to follow the 80-80-20 guideline and see how it goes. That means that in a day you eat
*80 grams of fat *80 grams of protein *20 grams of carbs.
This is then adjusted to the level which makes you feel good. Add more fat or reduce the carbs. It's all individual and there are no right's or wrong for anyone.
When shopping for food a good guideline is to never buy anything with more than 5 grams of carbohydrate per 100 grams.
